Two beehives were recently installed outside of the Kiawah Island Town Hall by beekeepers David Ruedrich, Liz King and Laura Belt.
The 20,000 honeybees come to Kiawah from Southern Georgia. To learn more about beekeeping, find the Charleston Area Beekeepers Association at the Conservancy's Earth Day Event on Apr. 25.
