About Us

Founded in May 2005 by Lynn Pierotti as part of Lucky Dog Publishing, The Island Eye News and Island Connection newspapers serve the Charleston Lowcountry, including Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Goat Island, Kiawah Island, and Seabrook Island. Both papers' mission has remained steadfast since Day 1: to deliver independent, balanced local news, capturing the essence of our community's unique blend of news, politics, arts, music, and events.

We're more than a news outlet; we're a community uniter. Lucky Dog News celebrates our neighborhood's vibrant culture, inviting you to explore stories that connect and uplift us. Our platforms provide unique advertising opportunities, from exclusive content sponsorships to standard ads, tailored for businesses aiming to reach the affluent demographic of barrier island shoppers and beyond.

Event promotion is made easy with our advanced system. Anyone can submit events for free, whether it's a garage sale or a glamorous galas, with options for ticket links and registration. Events feature in our event newsletters and on our website, reaching a broad audience for unbeatable free promotion.

Our advertising department, headed by Dimitria Stevenson, specializes in helping local businesses compete with major brands. Utilizing AI and SEO, we provide effective, data-driven marketing strategies.

We welcome community engagement through press releases, news tips, story ideas, and questions. Our advertising team is ready to assist organizations and businesses in reaching their goals.
