On Aug. 10, the Town of Kiawah Island received an appeal filed by the South Carolina Environmental Law Project challenging the Town’s Planning Commission’s decision to extend the approval of Kiawah Development Partners’ preliminary subdivision plat for Captain Sam’s Spit for one year. On Dec. 1, both the Town of Kiawah Island’s Planning Commission and Kiawah Resort Associates separately submitted legal memos opposing SCELP’s appeal and requesting that the appeal be dismissed in court. The Town’s full 14-page memo is available on the Town’s website or at the following link: adobe.ly/3YeNZJu.
